K. Srinivas Patnaik
Maritime Professional | Author | Musician | Founder of Kultiv8
My life and work have moved through the maritime world, writing, music and self-cultivation. Each has taught me something about responsibility, attention and the need to keep growing with steadiness.
This website brings those parts of the journey together.

Maritime Advisory
More than three decades in the maritime world have shaped how I assess risk, responsibility and consequence. As Founder and Principal of Red Dot Marine, I support owners, buyers, financiers and business counterparts with independent maritime judgement before important commitments are made.
Books and Writing
I write to make lived experience useful beyond the moment in which it was gained. The 7 Costly Mistakes Ship Owners Make examines avoidable risk in maritime decisions. Old Currency in a New World explores karma, memory and conscious response in modern life.
Kultiv8
Kultiv8 is a practical philosophy and guided mentoring approach for people who want to give steady attention to something meaningful that keeps being postponed. It begins with present responsibilities and turns intention into a small, repeatable practice.
Music
Music has accompanied me through ships, homes, community spaces and public events. My musical work includes guitar, singing, original compositions, songs for short films, Strum Along with Srini and selected live appearances.
Current and Upcoming
These are some of the books, programmes and appearances receiving attention now.

Understanding Karma in Modern Life
My latest published book explores karma as pattern, consequence, memory, responsibility and possibility. It invites readers to recognise recurring patterns and consider how more conscious choices may gradually change what follows.
Upcoming Music Appearances
Confirmed performances, collaborations and music-led gatherings are added as they are finalised. The Music Appearances page brings together upcoming engagements, recent performances and selected events from the archive.
Begin with One Seed
Through Kultiv8, I help people identify one area of life they want to cultivate and build a practice that can continue alongside existing responsibilities. The four-stage method and the Solo, Motion and Pace pathways are available on the Kultiv8 page.
A Life Across Many Currents
Some lives follow one professional or creative line. Mine has moved through shipboard engineering, shore-based leadership, entrepreneurship, writing, music and spiritual enquiry.
These experiences have not always developed in the same way or at the same time. Together, they have shaped how I understand responsibility, resilience, judgement and inner steadiness.
This website is the personal home for that continuing journey.
